Take out order. I sat at the bar, had a beer and ordered food to go. We got the fried chicken dinner and ribeye sandwich. Both were excellent 5 out of 5 stars. The house blond was great as well. Looking forward to ordering again.
I had my birthday dinner here last week and everything was fantastic! Our waiter, Trenton, was very personable and friendly. He always had a huge smile on his face. He also gave me a birthday card signed by the staff, which was a very thoughtful gesture to make the night even more special. The food was fantastic! Four people in our party ordered the Bistro Plate, and we all agreed the soup of the day, which was the creamy onion soup, was the best soup we have ever had! We will definitely be coming back to Nick's in the future!
Make a reservation! And come hungry!We came at 11:30 and left to a full house at 12:45. I loved sitting on the open air patio by the sidewalk. Our server, Norma, was very professional and nice. My cocktail was refreshing and light. The Asparagus Fries were just the right texture and vibrant green, not dull or mushy or fibrous. And my Prime Rib Dip was so delicious! I never care to eat sandwiches, but I'm so glad I ate this one. The au jus and horseradish dip were not overly seasoned or heavy. The roll was light, crisp toast on the outside and fluffy inside. And the bistro salad was so crunchy and flavorful! (I'd recommend massaging the kale a little though...I could only eat half, but they gave me fresu au jus and horseradish to go. Yum! I ordered the Warm Butter Cake at the recommendation of other Yelp reviews. So glad we did! It was all sorts of sweet, hint of salt, a little crunch, coolness from the ice cream...just lovely. You have to order this! A lovely lunch experience. So thrilled we came to this location (there are also locations in Del Mar and Carlsbad...but this one's my personal favorite.)

We have heard great things about Nicks so we gave e it a try. I would advise a weekday before 4:30 for the best availability. The food was outstanding. I had the boneless fried chicken and my wife had the chicken piccata. The service could use some help though. We started with a female waitress who had a sour disposition and then a young girl guy named Matt took over who was much better. Overall it was a great experience and we will go back.
We made reservations here, the menii up is small, but very good. We enjoyed the calamari with a mocktail and beer. My husband ordered the ribeye melt which was tender and so delicious. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken which was huge! I didn't even realize there was a buttermilk biscuit under all the chicken. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and hot. We will definitely be back here when we come to town.
THE BUTTER CAKE. GET THE BUTTER CAKE. WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS AND NOT DRIVING TO NICKS FOR THEIR BUTTER CAKE?!?!?! In all seriousness, very nice restaurant with great food and awesome service. But like, please don't go here and not get the butter cake. It would be like going to Disneyland and bringing a book. And hey, maybe you do that. And if you do, by all means, still go to Nick's, but sure, get whatever you'd like. For anyone else though...GET THE BUTTER CAKE!!!!!
Tuna Tartare - Then Corn Chowder because it's Tuesday at Nick's in San Clemente!! This Ho Hum day just became SPECTACULAR!!! Incredible service, gorgeous presentation and preparation and Off the Charts flavor. Thanks for a perfect lunch!!
I had the amazing macadamia crusted halibut special. It was insanely delicious. Buttery and crunchy with a side of spinach and mashed potatoes-perfectly seasoned and cooked. Ross our server was great. Very pleasant and sincere. Love the ambiance. A nice buzz to liven up yet can hear table chat. Fireplace on , heard lamps above helped the warmth for our open window seating. Butter cake is always an amazing finale.
I'm a big fan of Nick's restaurants. We've been to Belmont, Laguna Beach, and this one. The service is always amazing. The food is top notch. The girlfriends and I decided to start our evening here because, why not! We were planning on having dinner, but cocktails and appies got out of hand and we were too full for dinner.
